Special Projects
1. Contribute to Masjid Al-Fatima
Masjid (Mosque) Al-Fatima was established and solely funded by Captain Ahmad Naveed Ashraf in memory of his late mother, Ghulam Fatima. Since its inception in 2012, it has played a pivotal role in Bahawalpur village, providing free education throughout the year to 50+ students, acting as a safe space for community to congregate and pray, and assisting with free meals during the year especially in Ramadan. There are many options to contribute to this special project:
Contribute to the monthly expenses of running and maintaining the mosque, covering the expense of teacher (“Qari sahab”), cleaners, bills and general maintenance. Running cost of the mosque is PKR 100,000 / USD $630 / GBP £500.
Provide groceries (“raashan”) to the poor in the community during the month of Ramadan when they hold daily fasts for 30 days. These typically cost PKR 5,500 / USD $35 / GBP £30.
Provide food (“sadqah”) to the poor in the community, typically in the form of donating meat from a goat or cow. Many families in the community go months without meat due to lack of affordability. Sadqah of a goat costs PKR 15,000 / USD $95 / GBP £75.
